From the moment I heard Thinkin’ Bout You for the first time in the basement of S.O.B.’s in New York I got chills down my body couldn’t focus or do anything else because as the blood rushed to my brain it was like I could feel it flowing through my veins making a bee-line to my head. Now, more than a year and a half later, I still have to rest my moving fingers, and just listen, and let the sound swoop over me.
I suggest you do the same right now.
Congrats on the Grammy nominations, Frank, you deserve every last one of them. You’re a genius, and Channel Orange delivers like nothing in recent memory (except maybe My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, but in a totally different way). There’s something physical about your sound, because you let us into the deepest recesses. Whatever that texture in your sound is, I thank you for it and for the music I love.
